Chipping at the tail of the spine, minor creasing at the head of the spine and corners. Bound in brown cloth over boards with gilded lettering and designs on the front and spine. Front gilding inside a debossed framed section. Solid, square, tight spine, and sharp corners. With a grey/blue top-stain, deckled long edge, and trimmed lower edge with a single spot (not remainder mark, but likely from an early ink dot) else, very fine. The interior is clean, clear, and crisp with a tight spine. Some pages in final gathering are uncut along long edge, never having been read. A 19th century musician finds himself linked with the past, able to work with his idol, Johann Sebastian Bach, in this historical fantasy.
