New York: Harper & Brothers Publishers, 1926. First Edition. In original, clipped, jacket with an illustration on the front by W. F. White. The jacket is toned, with edge wear, chipping, and some short, closed tears. Bound in red cloth over boards with brass colored lettering on the front and spine. Heavy rubbing to the lower edge with some fraying - also at the head of the spine - generally solid and square. Minor damp staining to ffep, not seen elsewhere in the work. The interior is gently and evenly toned, otherwise it is clean and clear throughout. The jacket rear flap includes a synopsis of, "The Painted Room," by, Margaret Wilson and four reviews of different works on the rear.
