A collection of poetic scenes based on the earlier Greek poet, Theocritus, but incorporating contemporary Roman revolutionary change occurring during the transition from Julius Caesar to Augustus Caesar. Bound in modern archival cloth over boards with a paper label on the spine; solid and square. Faded top-stain and red flecks on the long and lower edges. New endpapers. Title page is toned, other pages much less so, generally clean and clear with minor coloring and spotting.
