Bound in modern archival cloth over boards with paper label on the spine; solid and square. New endpapers. First and second blank with old ink and pencil notations. Pages are slightly toned, but overall bright for their age with nominal spotting. "Merope is the Messene queen whose husband, Cresphon, and their two sons have been murdered by her brother-in-law, Polyphon, who usurps royal power and attempts to force the queen to marry him," (wikipedia).
