Some creasing and rubbing at edges with chipping to the spine ends and at corners, lightening to the spine. Bound in red cloth over boards with yellow, "Red Badge Detective" symbol on the front and yellow lettering on the spine. One corner bumped and gentle bumps at spine ends, slight lean. Long edge deckled. Small marginal smudge on pages 117 and 121 - otherwise, the interior is very clean and clear. With frontispiece advertisement for the, "Semi-Annual Red Badge $1000 Prize Contest."
