Bound in blue cloth over boards with gilded lettering on the front and spine and a debossed sextant on the front. Solid and square with a single scratch to the front board, else fine. With a frontispiece portrait of the subject. The interior is lightly and evenly toned, otherwise it is clean and clear throughout. Nathaniel Bowditch was an early American mathematician and navigator whose works are still in active use on naval ships today.
