Bound in contemporary vellum over boards with gilded Roman ruins on the front and gilded lettering and designs on the spine. Light rubbing at edges and darkening to vellum; solid and square. All edges red. Marbled endpapers. Volume two lacking the initial blank. The interior is clean, clear, bright, and free from spotting. Contemporarily published along with the American and British first editions, this uses the British title vs. the American, 'The Marble Faun.'
