First edition, first printing of this collection of supernatural and atmospheric short stories set in 19th century San Francisco. Bound in a dark green straght grain cloth over boards with gilded designs and lettering to front and spine. General rubbing and wear to the covers with some minor scuffing and a small bump along top front edge. Deckled long and lower edges; gilded top edge. The interior is lightly and evenly toned with some very minor spotting infrequently. Overall, Very Good to Near Fine condition.
