Early collection of novellas from Henry James (see pictures for list of titles). Original red cloth over boards with gilded lettering and frames on front and spine Including "A Catalogue of Books and Annuncements of Methuen and Company Publishers," from October 1900 (47 pages). Corners just scuffed and small bump to head and tail of spine, otherwise fine. Rough cut lower edge. The interior is clean and clear.
History of ownership: bookplate from John Quinn, and early 20th century book collector from Ohio. Additionally, from the private library of Maurice Sendak with laid in paper documenting its sale. Maurice Sendak was a celebrated children's author and illustrator known for multiple works including, "Where the Wild Things Are."
