Violin Songs

Containing poems under the headings, "Violin Songs," "Songs of the Days and Nights," "A Book of Dreams," "Roadside Poems," and "Poems for Children." This includes versions of "Little Bo Peep" and "Little Boy Blue" amongst many others. First published in 1871 by Strahan & Company Limited, the present edition is from a subsequent printing (1870's-1880) edition printed by Strahan & Company Limited. Green cloth over boards with debossed borders on front and back. Gilded lettering and rules on spine. Some rubbing to edges, bumped corners, and rubbing along rims of spine. Long edge rought cut. Yellow endpapers. The interior is lightly toned with minimal spotting at the very edges of a few pages - otherwise internally clean and clear. From the private library of Maurice Sendak with laid in paper documenting its sale. Maurice Sendak was a celebrated children's author and illustrator known for multiple works including, "Where the Wild Things Are."
