Juan de San Vicente, 1675. Early Edition. A rare, 1675 edition of this work by, Don Antonio de Guevara. Intially, a very popular work and boradly translated throughout Europe, by the time of this printing, the book was increasingly viewed as having taken liberties with the histories it contains. Subsequent 20th century analysis has emerged supporting the work. Containing three books, book 3 is interrupted and missing some pages at the end. In orignal, or early, limp vellum with visible leather ties at spine front and rear. Faded ink lettering on spine. Other ink marks and words written on covers. Generally worn. Old ink on front pastdown and ffep; ffep is torn missing about 1/3. Final twenty or so pages worn on top right corners with some minor impacts to a few letters on impacted pages. Overall, toned with some spotting and discoloration. Marginal markings and a few ink illustrations. Overall, a well worn work, nearly completely intact, in double columns.
